Charity Never Faileth

The last couple of days I have spent reading about charity, which is the "pure love of Christ". In 1 Corinthians 13:8-10, it says that "Charity never faileth: but whethere there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away."

I finally realized what this passage means. We don't have all prophecies, but will receive more as time progresses. One day, we won't need to know different languages, because we will all be speaking the same language. We don't have all knowledge, but are constantly learning (and even some of our knowledge becomes obsolete with the rise of new knowledge).

In light of all of this, the thing that we need to develop more than anything is charity. When we learn how to love somebody, that ability will never change. That is why "Charity never faileth." We need to learn to love, for everything else we know and learn can't be complete. The only thing we can develop in full on this Earth is charity.
